As 2012 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank all of you who have made this year one of the best in ChemRite’s history. The collaborative efforts of our strategic group of customers, our outstanding suppliers and an exceptional group of employees here at ChemRite came together and proved that our corporate goals can not only be accomplished, they can be surpassed. This is the direct result of the team effort put forth by all of you. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to all who helped make this a memorable year.
The early part of the year found our team preparing for a national brand launch. Our sales and purchasing departments worked diligently to ensure that we would be prepared for production when the customer required it. This particular brand launch was new territory for our team, but our dedicated professionals handled it successfully, with outstanding attention to detail and customer service. ChemRite is now a vendor of choice for this customer and we look forward to an ongoing partnership in the future.
ChemRite expanded its sales department, with the addition of a Sales Representative. This welcome expansion has already produced good results in increased customer service and meeting our company sales objectives. This year also saw the implementation of the finished goods bar code scanning system. The system took many hours of innovative research and development on the part of our team. The final product is a huge accomplishment that our ERP software company is now interested in copying. The implementation process has required many adjustments to our processes and procedures but the result has been a much more accurate and efficient way of tracking finished goods. Thank you to all who continue to work to make this process a success.
Another big company undertaking involved the re-imaging of our lunchroom to accommodate a new high tech visitor’s center. When complete, this new area will give our customers a place to work while at our facility. It is also designed for presentations and company meetings. All will enjoy the new lunchroom features which will include fountain soda, gourmet coffee and premium sandwiches. This new area is sure to enhance our visitor’s experience as well as give our hard working employees a comfortable place to relax for lunch and break times.
Finally, a company wide scoring system was put into place this year. The Key Elements Score was created to measure the company’s four key drivers – quality, production efficiency, housekeeping and sales. The goal was placed before each CRCP team member to achieve an “A” grade in each category. The grades from each category accumulate for a total monthly “Key Elements Score”. We were pleased to see our team receive an “A” grade during 8 months in 2012. Our management team encouraged all to continue to work together to realize our goal of an “A” grade in all 12 months of 2013.
As we move into the new year, we have several process improvements and new equipment purchases already in progress. All of these improvements keep us moving toward our goal of maintaining our status as a world class service provider to our valued customers. Throughout our decades in business we have seen that, even with great success, there is always room for improvement. As Walt Disney once said, “the way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”. We begin the year ahead with a focus on doing. We look forward to working together as a team to create another ground breaking year in 2013.
